Meet Alicia

Hi! My name is Alicia!

I was born 26 weeks premature with a number of health problems such as cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a stutter. At birth I also suffered a hydrocephalus brain hemorrhage and was fitted with a VP shunt. As a teen, I was diagnosed with different mental health disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, major depression, social anxiety, schizophrenia with mood disorder, ADHD and Tourette’s Syndrome. I have overcome many difficult challenges in my life. Three times doctors have given up on my life and said that I would not live, but Jehovah God gave me my life.

Despite my challenges, I enjoy digital painting, watching cartoons such as Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, but my favorite hobby of all time is singing.

My mom has been my biggest supporter throughout my whole journey. I couldn’t have overcome my challenges without her support. Now that I am a young adult, I really want to share my story with others. I want to help anyone that is struggling with disabilities to have a voice and share their own story as well. I also want to give our supporters a way to show the world that they love us and are proud of us.

XOXO,
Alicia
